SPORTS: The Reds have entered the race to sign AIK youngster Alexander Isak but they face stiff competiton for the talented striker from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich

Liverpool have set their sights on 17-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak, according to Spanish publication Sport.

The youngster has caught the eye of the Anfield club with his impressive performances since making his senior debut in February, having scored nine goals in 22 appearances to date for AIK.

However, the Reds will face a tough battle to sign the player, who is an under-17 international, as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Leicester City are all believed to be monitoring Isak's progress.

Last week, Isak celebrated his 17th birthday by scoring twice in a crucial Stockholm derby fixture against DIF, after which team-mate Chinedu Obasi hailed him as "the new Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic".
